What is your dream ?

To tell the truth, I wanted to marry with a nice guy when I was fifteen years old. I wanted to study abroad when I was eighteen years old. I wanted to be a tour guide when I was twenty years old.

But it has never occurred to me that I would be a sales woman someday when I was little. I was too shy to speak with strangers. I did not like to promote something to someone. I only like to bargain when I went shopping.

James, who was my boss and changed my life. My English will not be improved if I did not work at trade company. I will not become a sales women if he did not hire me. I could not speak Cantonese if he did not give me chance to go to Hong Kong for business trips. I deeply appreciated his kindness, so that I could make progress so fast.

Time flies ! Although I didn’t fulfill my dream , at least I will get a college diploma next year. I am very glad to meet all of classmates in this classroom. Hopefully everyone can dream comes true!

Hobby

Most women like to go shopping. Some women like buying clothes, cosmetics, supplies, snacks in the night market ,department store, or internet. But bookstore is a place where I like to go shopping and there are all kinds of books and a wide choice of writing utensils.

My two great interests in life are reading and music. I quite like reading and listening to the music any time any where. Since there is no space limited, they are two of my enjoyments. I could stay bookstore over two hours if I had free time. I will finish to read the book at once if I read. I seem to hear the books and writing utensils said hello to me when I went to the bookstore, so that is why I was addicted to bookstore.

Though I do not have much time to go bookstore, I can go shopping on the internet, but I prefer to go to the bookstore. Because what I like the most is go shopping in the bookstore and buy some books for myself.

Inequality

For the inequality between man and woman, do you know what country is more unfair?

Originally I thought we had more serious gender inequality in Taiwan. But one of my teacher who said “ when woman married to the man, the woman could not keep her original family name. She had to change her name to become men's family name despite she agreed or not. She could not has her own choice because of the regulation of the law.“ The country was States, I was so unbelief!

Although there were inequality problems in Taiwan, woman could decide her own. So what is fair or unfair ? There is no standard in every country.

Criticize

One day Apple and her friends wanted to go to travel , they had to arrive at the train station at 13:30. But Apple got an urgent news from her friend Lemon, who said, “he was working, so he changed the time and bought the ticket for all of friends at 15:00.” But he could not able to inform the news to all of friends,he required that Apple should help him.” When Apple got the phone call from Lemon, it was 12:00 .

In the meantime, Apple was still working. Lemon had not considered whether Apple worked or not, Lemon only thought he could not do it, so Lemon gave Apple the responsibility to inform their friends.

Apple was a warmhearted lady. But why did some people think she could help someone because she had a lot of time ?

In fact , Apple who rarely took a rest. She spent a lot of time at work. She understood it was so hard to inform all of friends at the same time, so Apple told to Lemon, “why did not we share and solve this problem together? But Lemon said, “he could not able to inform so many people, or ....why did not we tell to them and let them wait until 15:00? ” How selfish he was!

After Apple found some of friends were on-line in MSN so she passed the news to some of them first. There were 3 friends at the time, the first one was Peach, the second one was Orange and the third one was Grape. When Peach and Orange got the news from Apple, Peach and Orange wanted to help Apple and informed to other members, but Grape just said, “thank you and …nothing. “

People always need or require someone for help.but when somthing happened, their response were different.

Voice

Do you like image what people look like when you talk with them on the phone ? I like to image what people look like when I talked with them. But when I finally saw them ,whose voice was all different with their appearance. It was so funny.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching , I must give gift to my customer before holiday . When I visited my customer, they always gave me surprise. Because their voice was totally different with the appearance that I imagined.The people that I found the voice unpleasant, their appearance might not be ugly. On the contrary, if people's voice sound good, his or her appearance might not be beautiful.

I have one customer who was very humorous and talkative. I thought he must be a smiling, cheerful man.. but the fact was not, his appearance was very serious! If he did not speak, I could not recognize who he was. How amazing…

Barbecue

Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, it is time to think of a barbecue.

Actually I do not know when the Mid-Autumn Festival begin to barbecue, I only know that I want to the barbecue on the Mid-autumn Festival.

I like to barbecue, but my dad does not like the taste and bad smell of barbecue. My dad think that eating barbecue is unhealthy, so my family rarely barbecue. On annual the Mid-autumn Festival, what I looked forward to most is barbecue because I only barbecue once a year.

My auntie lives near my home, my cousin likes the barbecue just the same as I. Although my dad does not like barbecue, I can still eat barbecue at the Mid-Autumn Festival because every year my family usually go to my antie's house to barbecue on the Mid-Autumn Festival ,no matter sunny or rainy day.

This year my cousin moved to Tainan because of work. I really miss my cousinand because no one can accompany me to barbecue…. Perhaps a week before the Mid-Autumn Festival, I should call him back to Taipei.

Custom

Have you heard if someone use his or her finger to point to the moon, his or her ears will become rotten next day ? Do you believe the story ? My mom told me the story when I was eight years old. Of course, I didn’t believe it. I thought she was deceiving me, this was not true!

One night I felt bored. I suddenly remembered that story from my mom, so I wanted to try and there were no people around me. After I had pointed to the moon, my ears really become rotten each other day. I did not know how this happened. When I pointed to the moon, I did not have any feeling. Is the goddess of the moon and rabbit really live in the moon ? Did I rude to the moon ? Maybe…. what a miraculous happening!

Since then, I would rather believe all of the customs and would not to try again. It's a bit like once bitten, twice shy!

Diligent

Before encouraging my group members to write the composition, I must to lead by personal example first. One day I wrote an e-mail to tell my team members, I have completed a writing. When I was very glad to finish a writing at last, I received a response from one of my group members, her name was Amanda,who said, “this semester she wanted to learn English listening, so she had to hurry to complete the fifteen essays, and she had completed four”. I could not believe she is actually faster than I write!

To keep myself in front of the schedule, I am so diligent to find the “inspiration” every day. Up to now I have finally written six articles. Original I thought Amanda may have only finished six articles this week, but so far she had already finished 10 articles. From the writing speed, I can understand what kind of person she is. She is really diligent in her work. I am very glad to be in the same group with her.

Addiction

I drunk a lot of coffee last semester. Every day I must to drink a cup of coffee. Without coffee, I was unable to do things attentively. When I was making coffee, I need to put two bags of instant coffee into a cup. Otherwise, it was not enough for me. Because I usually stay up all night, and must get up at half past 6 in the morning every other day, so I could only refresh myself by coffee.

This method was very unhealthy and I was very afraid I will be poisoned, because I drunk too much of the coffee. So I decided not to drink coffee on summer vacation and I have accomplished.

Actually do not drink or give up coffee, it is in fact very simple! After so long as you sleep fully, you will get more powerful. But my best friend whose name was Irene, who said, “this was impossible for us when we started to study because we will have a lot of homework need to be prepared.”. Even if I agree to with her statement, but I still try to avoid to drink the coffee. I am afraid if I drink today, I will continue to drink tomorrow. It will be habit-forming to drink coffee.

Japanese

When I was child, I liked to watch Japanese TV drama very much. Before I went to the school, how I hoped to learn Japanese some day! I was very envious of the other classmates, because they had previously studied Japanese at school. In addition to English, Japanese is an international common language, but I had no chance to study in the past. Until entering the Lunghwa University., I finally had the opportunity to learn it. I was very glad to start by learning from the basic, and grateful to the school for giving me this opportunity to learn.

My Japanese teacher who is kindly and nice as her Chinese name, but she was a rigorous person too. I guess… may be a reason that she studied in Japan, and Japanese are more rigorous. Her test question types were all translated into Japanese by Chinese, or Japanese were translated into Chinese. The test question types in this way were very good, because students could use flexibly.

But after studying Japanese of several lessons, I began to regret a little bit……

I work in the daytime, and only have time to study after come off duty. When I heard the teacher would like to teach us seven lessons on this semester at one time, and will have final exams test from one to thirteen lessons, I wanted to spit blood.

This Is not that I do not want to prepare, this is not that I do not want to learn, but my time is limited, how much a person can hold a head? I have too many subjects need to be prepared. I really do not like the teacher finishes her teaching so fast in order to catch the progress. I knew that she was well-intentioned, but I am unable to absorb at all. My absorption is limited, please do not treat me so cruel.

TOEIC

Smile is the best and common language in the world. Although I can listen, speak, read and write English, but I do not know how one's English degree is, and I do not know how to prove my English degree when I want to apply to a job, so that is very important to obtain a license to prove!

It is my goal of reading foreign language to take an exam of TOEIC. Without certificates, it is nonsensical to read foreign language.

Our class did the preliminary hearing test last Sunday. Howard did not receive the CD from bookstore, but we still did the test. You would certainly think that there was no CD and CD player, how could we do the hearing test? Of course, we still could. Because nothing is impossible for Howard! Howard read, and we listen to.. 100 questions of the hearing tests, I only corrected answers 59.Test poorly, is not it! But I will not give up myself. This is the 1st week of the semester, I still have much time to prepare.

Howard said, “this was not the actual test , he just wanted to know what our level was and he will give us extra points if our end result made some progress. “ How wonderful, isn’t this ? I did not originally believe the degree of our class was really very good, I only thought the teacher was just praising. But when I took some courses in other classes, I agreed our class really works hard, we are the best !

I do not demand to win, I only demand to do the best and progress and learn what I want every year, hopefully I can greatly advance on the end of the semester !

Inspiration

I thought that had finished the 10 English writing on my blog , perhaps I do not need to write again when the semester begins. But the first week of the semester begins ,HARRIS was starting a new term to appoint us to complete the 5 per month!

Writing is really a difficult task, especially writes in English
To tell the truth, I hate to write, but I like to chat. I have not expected to be elected as the group leader of the composition....It is really inconceivable.

From the point of view of me, I think that to speak is much more simpler than to write.When I speak or chat with someone, I do not need consider whether a mistake, or have any questions about grammar, but when I was writing, I must consider whether the words or the grammar was correct or not, I must finish by myself. There is restriction of the number of words in the writing, but will not have this question when speaking. So comparatively, composition is much more complicated!

Now I have already lost inspiration, I should begin to look for the new inspiration, , I am glad there is no writing classes next semester!

Jen and Jack

What did you do on your summer vacation? Work, sleep or watch television ? I learned how to dance hip-hop with Moya on my summer vacation. I do not easily sweat ,but a lot of sweats flowed when I danced, It was great fun for us. We just need to dance once a week for one hour, so it didn’t waste too much time on me.

Yesterday was the first week to go to school. Everyone had not met each other for nearly 3 months, I was really look forward to see our classmates before I went to study. But a couple of our classmates told us that they will drop out of school and look after their newborn baby from now on. So our class lacked 2 good classmates again this semester, what a pity!

I like the couple of our classmates who called Jen and Jack, they were really nice! The appearance of Jen seems very quiet, but…. actually she was not! She was like me and lively. Because I always say I am very gentle , quiet and introversive ... However, people who know me do not believe. But Jen’s husband was so quiet like as his appearance and he was nice, too!

The photo that was sent by Jack the day before yesterday. She was so cute and like as her mother. No wonder they decide to drop out of the school. Although they can not continue to study with us, but I respect their choice and sincerely wish them .

Farewell, my dear grandmother!

What is important in your life ? From my opinion, nothing is more important than health. You can not do anything without health.

My dear grandmother died on July 24, 2009 because of cirrhosis. I could not help her while she was staying in hospital. I stood there helplessly crying. After I could only accompany her when she was suffering, I was so sad.

Today is my grandmother's latest day! My mom told me, "She will become an orphan". I felt so sad. After I told to my dear mom, "Even grandmother passed away, but you are not an orphan. " Because you still have husband and children, we love you ! You will not be lonely.

My family and relatives held a farewell ceremony for my dear grandmother and then cremated.

People are very fragile. Treasure everything you have at present and take care. Life is very short-lived.

Why the education so important ?

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to welcome you today. Let me introduce myself. My name is Belinda, from Lunghwa University. Before I start my presentation, I would like to ask you some questions. Do you believe the salary will be higher if your education is better than others? Do you know what the level for education nowadays is?

The topic of today’s presentations is “why the education so important.” My presentation will be about 4 minutes long. I will focus on three major issues.

First of all, I will talk about “job opportunities”.
Second, I will tell you something about “skills”.
After that, I will move on to express “learn how to learn”.

Ok, let’s start with “Job opportunities”.
Education is become a basic requirement for many employers, you can find the job easily if your education is higher than the others.

This now leads us to my next point as “Skills”.
Language skills will help you to communicate your ideas more clearly. It’s essential in any role –No matter what skills, it can be helpful for you.

I would like to point out the 3rd part as “Learn how to learn.”
School teaches you how to gather, learn, and apply knowledge. Despite what career you choose, you will need to learn information, and skills related to your job. Because you will be replaced by other people without learning.

Let me quickly explain the graph. You can see that different colors have been used to indicate each of level education. The blue line, gives us how many people studied Graduate School. The dark purple line is for college. And the yellow color which is for Junior college.

According to the bar chart, we can easily see the rates that the people graduated from the universities rise gradually from 2001 to 2008. That means most of us are aware of the importance of education. No matter how high education is, you still have to go on learning or you will be eliminated.

Well, this brings me to the end of my presentation. Remember what I said at the beginning of my talk today? Let me summarize the most important results. The more you LEARN, the more you EARN. Keep learning without fair. I hope you can learn why the education is more important after my presentation. Thank you all for listening.

The Pull of the Ocean

Plot summary:

There are nine people in Yann’s family. Yann was the seventh child. The six other siblings were all twins; the oldest set was 14 years old, while the next set was a year younger, and the last set was aged 11. All of the siblings were tall for their age but skinny.

On a stormy night, little Yann Doutreleau was not sleeping. He heard voices downstairs from his parents who fought at midnight. Yann pressed his ear against the door of his parent’s room to bet hear his parents’ row and learned that the family had no money left. Their argument revealed that his mother was going to ask for assistance, as many other people had to do. The father objected; he preferred to die and all of his children with him rather than seeing his wife beg. The rain came down heavier and they grew silent……so he went back stairs and woke up his six older brothers. He tells them that they must flee their home or risk being killed by their violent father.

Without questions, the siblings follow Yann into the wet darkness. The social worker investigating the Dourtreleau family, the truck driver who gives the boys a lift, the police officer alerted to their disappearance, the barker who gives them bread, and each of the many people that the seven boys encounter gives a stirring account of what he or she witnesses.
So they begin their remarkable odyssey toward the ocean-as well as an unforgettable story of brotherhood.

Comments

I clearly understood what the book describes after I read “The Pull of the Ocean” two times. There are so many books in the library but why I would prefer to choose this book. Because I like the front cover of this book, in addition, this book is not difficult to read, so that is why I chose it.

Why did the little Yann Doutreleau have to wake up his brother at midnight? Why were they compelled to flee their home at midnight under the pouring rain? The tragedy is that he misheard is father; in actuality, his father had no intention of killing the children. When the patriarch said, “I will kill’em all tomorrow! All seven of’em!” He meant the seven cats. Unfortunately, he did not all listening to so that is why lead to misunderstanding.

Yann Doutreleau was only ten but he was very brave. He guided his brothers to run out of their home when he thought his father want to kill them. Despite Yann was brave, but like children everywhere, he lacked understanding and wisdom. His impulse only lead to further misunderstanding.

When they ran out of their home, they had no plans, so they did not have money for food or any relatives that they could depend on. They were drenched, freezing and lost, but luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

I recall one proverb, “everything should all think thrice before acting.” One can prevent unnecessary troubles from happening if you think before you “leap”. It behooves us to think and be patient in making decisions, because once action is taken, we often cannot return.

How to quit smoking ?

Ladies and gentlemen. It is a pleasure to welcome you today. Do you smoke ? Have you ever tried to quit it ? Do you know what may happen to wives when their husbands smoke ? The topic of today’s presentation is “ how to quit smoking.”

In my presentation I will focus on Healthy because there is nothing more important than health.

Smoking causes lung cancer. Smokers have six times as much cancer of the mouth, tongue, and throat as nonsmokers. Nonsmoking women married to smoking men have a high risk to get old easily. All of these facts from research show that smoking is bad.


There are several ways to quit smoking. For example, get up and take a walk instead of smoking immediately after a meal. Doing some exercise if you want to smoke. Sports can relieve stress and relax our min or find another person to quit the smoking together.

After ten years of quitting, the chance of getting cancer is almost the same as nonsmokers. So think about it, quit the smoking, you will live better and longer!

How to drive a teacher crazy ?

When I was a junior high school student, I always liked to see the movies about how to drive a teacher crazy. The funny movies made me laugh all the time. To drive a teacher crazy is easy and simple. You do not need to think too much or need to prepare any tools if you want to drive a teacher crazy.

First, never inform the teacher if the classroom is changed. It will be fun to just watch the teacher find out where the classroom is. When the teacher is locked in the elevator, just let the teacher be trapped in the elevator. Do not attempt to save the teacher. In addition, when the teacher finds the classroom, just surprise him/her with a filthy classroom. In just a few minutes, you will find out how crazy the teacher is.

However, it is not polite but rude to drive a teacher crazy. So think before you leap.

Please do not try it yourself!

Why has Confucianism had such an enduring influence ?

In my opinion , no other philosopher in the world has had more induring influence than Confucius because there were two cornerstones of his system of personal conduct where jen and li. Jen might be defined as “benevolent concern for one’s fellow men.” Li is a term less easily translated: it combines the notions of etiquette, good manners, and due concern for rituals and customs. Confucius believed that a man should strive after truth and virtue rather than wealth and in his personal life he seems to have acted on that principle.

In addition, he was the first major philosopher to state the Golden Rule, which he phrased as “Do no do unto others that which you would not have them do unto you.” Confucius believed that respect and obedience are owed by children to their parents, by wives to their husbands, and by subjects to their rulers.

But he was never a defender of tyranny. On the contrary, the starting point of his political outlook is that the state exists for the benefit of the people, not the rulers. Another of his key political ideas is that a leader should govern primarily by moral example, rather than by force so that is why Confucianism has had such an enduring influence.

Why do you think some people continually have money problems ?

Is it the fault of credit cards ? is it the lack of experience or training ?

In my viewpoint, I think some people continually have money problems, maybe the reason is that it is not the fault of credit cards, they didn’t care about the money and they are lack of experience and training.

Make a saving budget is important. With the food and petrol prices constantly rising in the face of the global financial crisis, cutting unnecessary spending and saving money is of ever increasing importance.

When shopping, keep a look out for special offers, sometimes you can even pick up top branded products cheaply if they are on offer. Try shopping at a different supermarket and see if you are shopping works out cheaper. This could be especially helpful if this supermarket is closer to home.

For electricity, turn off lights when they are not being used and try to avoid leaving electrical appliances on standby.

The cost of petrol has risen massively and even a short journey now costs a substantial amount in petrol costs. Avoid driving when you can, walk or take a bike. Not only will this save you money but it’s great for your fitness!

Luncheon

In “The Luncheon”, the narrator starts out by describing what he had a lunch with the woman who had not seen each other in 20 years.

It was twenty years ago, the author who was very poor was living in Paris. One day the woman had read a book of Maugham and had written to he about it. He answered, thanking her, and received the woman’s letter that she would like to had a chat with him and asked him took her to lunch at the Foyot’s. Foyot’s was a restaurant which the French senators eat and it was so far beyond he. But he was flattered and too young to say no to the woman, so he agreed and they met at Foyot’s on Thursday at half past twelve.After they met, she was not so young as he expected and in appearance imposing rather than attractive. She was in fact a woman of forty, and she gave he the impression of having more teeth, white and large. She was talkative person.

But he was startled when the bill of fare was brought, for the prices were a great deal higher than he had anticipated. But she reassured he. “I never eat anything for luncheon, I never eat more than one thing.” But she ordered salmon, caviar, French white wines, giant asparagus. After they finished their lunch, he paid the bill, he found that he had only enough for a quite inadequate tip. When he walked out of the restaurant he had the whole month before he and not a penny in his pocket. So far the luncheon has gone badly for the author who should said no if he didn’t had much money to bear it.

Rice Dumpling

The most popular dish during Dragon Boat Festival is rice dumpling, originally eaten in memory of the patriot Chu Yuan.

It is said that after the poet-statesman Chu Yuan ended his life by drowning, people began throwing balls of sweet rice wrapped in bamboo leaves into the Miluo River to keep the fish from eating the patriot's body. Over time these rice balls became more elaborate and varied with the addition of pork, peanuts, salted eggs, and other fillings, gradually evolving into the modern day.

The Chinese are lovers of food and drink, and nowhere is this more apparent than the plethora of different types of rice dumpling. No matter how large or small, sweet or savory, with meat or vegetarian, rice dumpling come in almost every size and flavor imaginable. In Taiwan, it is very convenient to buy ready-to-eat rice dumpling which gradually evolving into a snack eaten during normal occasions. However, many families still prefer to make their own. This is especially true of families with children preparing for the once-a-year college entrance exams held after Dragon Boat Festival, since it is believed that eating homemade rice dumpling before the test will help bring high scores.

Do you agree "humor is a way for people to socialize"… ?

I totally agree with “humor is a way for people to socialize… It’s a way for people to connect – a way to bond with each other,” because people enjoy the feeling of laughter. It feels good. It’s a good solution when you have trouble communicating with people. For example, when A accidentally spilt coffee on B’s backpack and B said, “It’s OK. I haven’t washed my backpack for a long time. Thank you for giving me the chance to wash my backpack.” By doing so, the embarrassment between the two can be easily reduced. .

Humor is a good way to make new friends in any place. For example, outgoing people usually have a lot of friends because they are more humorous with good temper and much easier to get along with.

A positive outlook will make people want to be around you a lot more. Some studies have shown that putting a positive expression on your face can actually make you feel happier and more optimistic. But if you're shy, you need to build up your confidence to actually be popular because making friends is not always easy. It depends on how outgoing and how humorous you are. Nobody likes to be around with people who are so serious all the time. If you're serious, you might not make new friends easily. So that’s why Humor is a way for people to connect a way to bond with each other.

Simpsons movie

In my opinion, I think the Simpsons movie wants to convey what the Unity Strength is. Despite the Simpson Family was disunited at the beginning, they become united when their family suffered from misunderstanding by their community and encountered slaughtered and finally pushed out of their country. After they escaped to Alaska, they learned that the people of their country suffered the agony and bottled up. Though the people wanted to kill their family before, the Simpson Family didn’t keep in mind except the father. The mother told the father that she wanted to go back to their home and save their country with Bart Simpson and his younger sister. The father disagreed because the people wanted to kill them before. Nevertheless, the mother went back to their home with their children while the father stayed in Alaska. Soon after, he started to miss his family. So he went back to look for his wife, children and rescue their country. I like the way it presents the great sentiment. And I think there is noting more important than “being united”, so that’s why I like this movie. In fact I haven’t seen the cartoon for a long period of time, and I seldom saw the Simpsons when I was a child. Therefore, I don’t have any ideas about the Simpson Family before I saw it. All in all, the movie was good ,funny and made me laugh.

How to lose weight in a healthy way!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to welcome you today. Let me introduce myself. My name is Belinda. I come from Lunghwa University School. Before I start my presentation, I would like to ask you some questions. Do you believe I was heavier and I weighed 17 kilograms more than now? Do you also believe I could lose 17 kilograms in 3 to 4 months?

Here I am today to share with you the secret on “how to lose weight in a healthy way“. My presentation will be about 20 minutes long. I will focus on three major issues.

Second, I will talk about doing exercise.

Dear An,

We have not seen each other for a long time. How have you been?

I remember you were a class leader when we just knew each other in the class 13 years ago. You were a sports lover and your score was always on the top five that let me feel that I should not lag behind too much of you. You were a kind and responsible person, you always exposed your tiger teeth when you smiled so that is why I was deeply attracted by you.

I like to see you when you play sports. I like to go to school because I could see you .You will never know there is someone who has loved you for a long time. I was shy and quiet when I talked to you. I am not sure whether you still remember me or not ? We are older now, but wiser! If I did not write this letter to show my love to you, I would regret forever. If you had no girlfriends or did not marry now, would you give me an opportunity to know each other?

The 1st one is read at least 150 pages of foreign novel and write at least three pages of what I thought.

The 2nd one is write at least 40 topics of diary every day.

The 3rd one is memory at least 30 pages of vocabulary.

The 4th one is eat the "肉羹" at Terry's diner. I promised Terry who will go there before the school opens. Today I finally went to his diner, the 肉羹 was really made by the meat. It was not made by the fish slurry like as other diner and the decoration is also very clean and bright so it is worth to introduce the diner to everyone!Please see the information as the following.

Special experience.

I was very surprised that Irene bought a special cake for me one day ! At first I did not know what had happened. I only knew that she needs my help, she may not be able to study next Satuday so she will pass her homework for me to transfter it to teacher.

After she went to my company, she gave me a special cake + a cup of coffee but she did not pass any homework to me.....she said she lied to me and she will still go to study next Satuday.

Actually I seldom tell anyone when is my birthday. I only showed my ID card to her when she unhappy before. Because my photo is very funny so that is why I showed it for her and hope she will happy. But I did not know she also memory my birthday, how thoughtful she is ! This is 1st time someone bought a cake to my company for my birthday and the cake is my favorite flavor , she really touched me.

40 articles.

Oh, YA !!!! Today I finally finished the 40 articles, so happy ! As you know, it is not easy to write one article every day, although the deadline is on the end of May, but I still want to finish it earlier.

I do not have the habit of diary, I am not used to write out the thoughts to share with other people so this is the most difficult homework for me because I have to spend one hour to think what I want to write before creat a new topic.

And the 40 articles were stipulated by teacher so I had to write it without fail. Fortunately, I had completed it before the school opens ,I felt myself at last absolutely free.

Blue Monday!

Monday is a blue day! Everyone do not like Monday,me either!

I always do not like Monday especially for today ! There is no reason , I just feel tired when I got up this morning and I would not like to go to work , but I can not! Because my clients will come to visit us today and I have meeting with our internal coworkers this morning so there is no choice that I have to go to work.

No matter how I tired , I can take a nap every noon, but I have to bring my clients to visit our factory so I could not take a nap today so bad...

After come back the office, my corworks told me today is the "Lantern Festival" and I can eat my favorite sweet rice balls after I go home. This is the only one thing made me felt happy and I can not wait !!!

Brands

Do you believe the expensive is equal the good quality ?
All expensive things are better ?
Why there are so many people want to buy things from brand ?

Because the brand is established by the good quality, high standard , durable and service ,but of courise the price is higher than others without brand.

I do not particularly like to buy things with brand, but I will pay attention where is the origin of country when I go shopping. I think "not all brands have good quality". Brand goods will have defective and cheapper goods will also have good quality. It depends on what you want to buy.

But I will never buy it from China especially for foods. Because everyone knows "all of goods are poor quality from China " which is very famous in the world so why I have to take the risk to buy it from China ?

Unemployment rate.

Every day when I read the newspapers , turn on the TV that the most popular news are the unemployment rate has increased, corruption or the flu virus , how bad!

To tell the truth, I did not think the unemployment rate was really high before. But when I visited my relatives and friends in the New Year period, I found some of they were fired or forced to leave without pay because of the economic downturn. I really could not believe it!

I think TV stations have been reporting stories based false information rather than fact and exaggerated the unemployment rate as a way to grab viewers' attention. So that is why let business owners took the opportunity to fiire their employees.

Sometimes they show tragic stories over and over to draw more viewers, a practice that shows their lack of sympathy. So we should stop watching these shows and let the media know that this madness has to stop, otherwise, the unemployment rate will increase every day.

Finally, I wish all of my relatives and friends....all the best because nothing is more important than everything goes smoothly!

Foreign Language.

In recent years, learning a second foreign language has become a new trend in Taiwan. It could be said that it is a phenomenon of the times. Due to frequent international cultural exchanges and the gradual increase in overseas travel, in addition to English, languages such as Japanese, French, and German are also becoming popular.

Language is a bridge for reaching different cultures and customs. It can broaden our knowledge and enrich our lives so this is why I chose to study English . But you must persevere when learning a new or foreign language, and should not give up halfway. I think by choosing topics that interest you in the language you wish to learn, you can achieve remarkable results.

Night market.

I like shopping! And Night Market is my favorite place! I usually go there if I have free time. Night Market has always been one of Taiwan's unique tourist hot spots, and a favorite for food lovers.

At night markets, you can find all kinds of snacks from different regions, allowing you to eat to your heart's content such as oyster noodles, Oyster omelet, stinky tofu, tenpura, steak-fried chicken and so on ...wow .... these are my favorite foods.

Although the food at night markets is tasty and cheap, but you should pay attention to cleanliness and avoid eating anything that looks unhygienic.

Besides snacks, night markets also have many enjoyable games, such as pinball, darts, fishing,hoopla, and more. Of course, the best feature of night markets is that you can bargain with the vendors, which is a new and interesting experience for many foreign visitors as well. So that is why many people like to go there.

Handling Embarrassment.

Have you ever felt really embarrassed ? Well, yes! I have been embarrassed many times. For example , I often forget people's names. When someone remembers my name but I can not remember their names, I usually just smile and say hello with them .

Also I remember many times when I was walking to school. I saw several of my classmates and waved to them, but they do not know me.... I suddenly found that I greeted with the wrong people. What is really embarrassing, right !

Embarrassment is not pleasant, but it is part of being human. My way is just laugh when people laugh because anger will only make the situation worse, and it will make your embarrassment last longer.

Do not keep thinking or talking about it, if you forget about it, others will too. And what's your viewpoint ?

Exercise.

We live in a busy world and often do not have time to take care of ourselves. It is difficult to find time for exercising as well . For most of us, the only thing that waits for us after a full day of work that is an evening. But time simply does not allow because we still have other important things to deal with, and some people will be spent taking care of their families.

However, to be consistent and stick to it, we need to find a routine that we enjoy and that works for us, but suggested simple home-based exercises that can be done at any time. I usually doing the treadle machine when I at home. We can get a good workout without any inconvenience.

Go hiking, playing badminton, volleyball or basketball these are also a great way to meet people. Whatever the sports, your body and mind will feel better.

Telephone and the computer which is more important ?

The topic tells people a little about your style. I am a talkative person, believe it or not, I do not like to talk via the phone with anyone. I like talking with people face-to-face or use MSN. Despite I have a cellular phone, but I do not talk on it very much even though the price is cheaper than before. I do not really know what people talk about on the phone all the time. Whenever I talk on the phone, I usually just say what I want to say or reply and hang up.

So I would say the computer is probably more important than the telephone.

Nowadays, I think everyone has to have a computer. If you do not have a phone, you can always use a pay phone or borrow it with someone. But if you do not have a computer , you need to spend a lot of money going to special computer places.

I usually use my computer to help me with my work or schoolwork. With the computer, you can get information so easily!

An inconvenient truth.

What kind of movies do you like ? Actually I do not go to movies very often, but I like all kinds of movies. I usually just watch whatever is on HBO or Cinemax. Last semester, Jenny showed us a movie called "an inconvenient truth" which was talking about the global warming and immigration problem.

One cause of pollution and global warming is too much carbon dioxide. Global warming can make huge weather changes around the world. Not only has it affected the weather, but it has also had an unexpected side effect. People are moving beacause their land is either drying up or flooding. As people move in great numbers too escape bad conditions, they cause problems at their new destinations because their numbers are so large. Some ares have more rain than ever before, while others have less, causing crop failures. It has been recurring happend again and again.

So what can we do to make our country better? There are a lot that we can do. As you can see someone's car of tailpipe will put the exhaust pipe smoke when we ride or drive on the road, they should repaired their tailpipe before they ride or drive. And people all the time throwing things on the sidewalk. They throw cups , paper and cigarettes. I think people have to start putting their trash in the trashcan and they should have to become more responsible. So let us protect the Earth to prevent the recurrence worse!

Learning.

When you leave school, you can breathe a sigh of relief and leave learning behind ? No ! I think "learning should not end when you leave school behind" because live and larn. The times are changing, you will be defeated if you do not learn.

Learning is a habit as well ! Do not leave it behind after you leave school , otherwise, you will forget what you have learned. I have some tips want to to share with you.

Always have a book : it does not matter if you read fast or slow, just read it !

Make a " to learn" list : maybe you want to speak better English, play the piano or cook Chinese food. Whatever interests you, put it on your list and then make the time to do it.

Anyway perseverance is very important, just keep to learn and do it !

Temple.

Where do you mostly go during the Chinese New Year's holidays ? Travel ? To visit your friends or stay at home ? For me ? My family usually go to at least more than five temples to worship every Chinese New Years. According to my mother's explanation, it will brings you peace and good luck if you go to temple to worship. No wonder you can find there are many people in each temple. Although I do not know this is true or false, but I prefer to believe it because at least my parents feel happy.

Originally I thought that only our family often to go to temples, but after chatting with friends, I found that most of my friends go to temple to worship as well, but we seldom encounter in the temple.

But l will say "hello" to them if I saw them.

The 2nd of January.

According to traditional Chinese customs, a married daughter could only go back to her parents' home every Lunar New Year on the 2nd of January. She and her family could not go back to her parents' home before the 2nd of January, otherwise, her parents will become poorer!

So we usually go to grandmother's house every Lunar New Year on the 2nd of January. My grandmother lived in Yunlin, it spends about 4~5 hours when we go to Yunlin every years. We normally get up at 4:00a.m and come back to Taipei next day at 2:00a.m., we have to rush and rush every times because we will get lots of congestion if we did not rush - especially on such kind of important holidays. So it wastes a lot of time and made us exhausted.

But we did not need to go to grandmother's house this year, my grandmother stays in Taipei so we could celebrate it in Taipei, it had a great fun!

"Apple"

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Apples taste good and are good for you, it provides many health benefits as the following:-

Hypermarts.

Where do you usually do most of your shopping ? You probably get most of your shopping done at superstores like Carrefour or RT-Mart. Nowadays, you can not go far in Taiwan without hearing about these hypermarts, or at least seeing an advertisement for one! Many customers are attracted to these stores because they offer convenience, variety, and low prices. Normally, you can buy everything you need all in one tripe like as food, clothes, and even household appliances. Plus, their prices are normally lower than smaller stores that only sell specific products like electronics.

Small business owners might be concerned about the future of their traditional Taiwanese shops and markets, since most of these superstores come from other countries like Japan, Korea, USA and so forth. Is there enough demand for both kinds of stores ? Indeed, will the hype about hypermarts ever die down ? Maybe yes, maybe no ... they usually based on the amount of sales to determine!

Chocolate.

Everyone loves chocolate. If no then nine of ten people are like chocolate! Eating chocolate and drinking hot chocolate are a great way to make people happy and warm up on a cold day! I learned "drinking this hot, sweet drink can also fight cancer which might make it seem even sweeter" from magazine. Researchers already knew that chocolate has antioxidants, which fight cancer and heart disease.

Now people drink it instead of the chocolate that they eat. They found that a cup of hot chocolate has more antioxidants than a cup of tea or a glass of wine. But to make hot chocolate healthier, make it with low-fast milk. And do not forget that the best way to get antioxidants is by eating lots of fruits and vegetables!

Tradition of red envelopes.

When I was a child, the highlight of celebrating Lunar New Year comes when my parents give me a red envelope! The color red symbolizes good fortune, and the Chinese characters adorning the envelope wish the children such things as prosperity, good luck and health. The amount of money given can vary greatly, but it must add up to an even number because the odd numbers are considered unlucky in Chinese.

Some of young people remain eligible to receive red envelopes until they begin working or get married. For me, I gave red envelopes to my parents when I started to work, but I can still receive it from my parents until I get married.

Although traditions vary from family to family, the red envelopes are full of blessings!

Lunar New Year !

Ever year about this time, the same things happen. Busy cities empty, traditional markets fill with holiday shoppers, and people journey home.

Many Lunar New Year traditions, like gather with family, eat some holiday treats and celebrate these have been going on for years.

On New Year's Eve, families stay up past midnight, gambles, play games or watch TV. In many places, the sound of firecrackers and fireworks becomes deafening as midnight approaches. In major cities, this popular activity has died down because of the safety concerns. One tradition that refuses to change that is the giving of red envelopes after the evening meal. I also gave the red envelopes to my parents, younger sister and younger brother. But I am surprised that this is the first time I received the red envelope from my younger brother, I am so happy !!!!
